Hello, and welcome to my blog!! My name is Britteny. I am a wife to an amazing husband and a stay at home mom to two beautiful children. My vision for this blog is to be a place for me to post more lengthy insights into my life outside of crochet, or off the HOOK!!
When I was little, my grandmother made me many hand-crafted items, and I cherish them to this day - so much so that I have begun handing them down to my daughter. I wanted to do the same for my children, and grandchildren someday. So, when I was pregnant with my first child, I taught myself to crochet - and I haven't stopped hookin' since!
When I say always handmade with love, that is exactly what I mean. Almost all of my projects are inspired by my own children in some way. However, I know how special it is to give such a unique gift that will be cherished for a lifetime, so really everything that comes off my hook is made with LOVE!!
I find it so relaxing to just sit with my hook and yarn. And, it's so portable! I can toss a partial sweater, ball of yarn, and hook into my purse and hook anywhere I like. I have been found hookin' in the car, while my children are taking lessons, and even when visiting family and friends.
Not only do I enjoy crocheting, but I am also a stay at home mom to two wonderful children!! I also plan to focus many posts on my life as a stay at home mom.
Also, I am actually a certified elementary school teacher in the State of New York, however, I've decided against pursuing that career path in favor of homeschooling my two little ones. So, you can bet that there will be many posts on my adventures in homeschooling.
I have two children, a girl who is four, and a boy who is two right now. They are my world! My daughter is a girly girl who loves dance, dress-up, and baby dolls. She also is very much into arts, and crafts - like her mommy! You will notice, as you follow my blog, that my daughter is much easier to photograph than my son. He is all boy, and never wants to sit still. He loves all things with wheels, animals that hop, and Duplos!
